What actually happens
The word "fire" appears on every phone and it is your turn. Fifteen seconds. Your brain deletes every song you have ever heard, then someone hums a riff and suddenly you are belting a chorus you forgot you knew.
You nail it. A thousand points. The next word is "rain" and the team across the room freezes, runs the clock down, and misses. Now it is your steal: five seconds, same word, and you already have one loaded.
By round three the quiet one has revealed an encyclopaedic memory for nineties R&B and nobody is looking at their phone except to read the next word.
The rules
On each turn, Neegma reveals a word on every player's screen
The current team or player must sing part of a real song that contains that word
Sing before the countdown ends, the host decides if it counts
Got it scores 1000 points; a miss opens a steal for the next team
On a steal, the next team gets a quick 5 second window to sing for 500 points
Sing a valid song with the word to bank 1000 points, or swoop in on a missed word for a 500 point steal. Points stack across unlimited rounds, and the highest total wins.
While you host
Once Song Association is running, the scoring, the leaderboard, and the ending are handled. You get to be in the room instead of behind a spreadsheet.

A code goes on your screen. People point a camera at it, type a name, and they are in. No app, no accounts, no one asking what the wifi password is.
Answers are marked as they land and the board updates between rounds. You are not holding a clipboard, and nobody is arguing about who said it first.
